Our Story

How we met

A rainy morning in Brooklyn

Emily was reading at the window of a small Bedford-Stuyvesant coffee shop when James asked, with a polite kind of nervousness, if he could share her table — every other seat was taken. One americano turned into three hours, and by the time the rain stopped, neither of them wanted to leave.

The proposal

Golden hour in Tuscany

On the last evening of a slow week in Val d’Orcia, James led Emily up a quiet cypress-lined path with a bottle of wine and a story he’d been carrying for months. As the hills turned the color of warm honey, he asked her to spend the rest of his life with him. She said yes before he finished the question.

Our forever begins

Home, in the Hudson Valley

We are gathering the people we love most on a quiet September afternoon — under stone arches, surrounded by wild grasses and the soft hum of the Hudson Valley. We can’t imagine a more fitting place to begin this next chapter, and we’re overjoyed that you’ll be a part of it.

A small request

What to Wear

Garden Formal

Think summer wedding elegance: long dresses, light suits, and soft tones encouraged. Please save white for the bride.

The ceremony and cocktail hour are outdoors with some grass walking involved — heels are welcome, but consider block heels or flats so the evening stays comfortable. The September air can cool quickly after sunset; a light wrap or jacket is a thoughtful addition.

Color inspiration

Blush

Sage

Cream

Dusty Blue

Soft Burgundy

Warm Taupe

These are gentle suggestions — wear what makes you feel like yourself.

Questions?

  • Garden Formal — long dresses, suits, and soft tones. Please leave white for the bride. Block heels or flats are a kind choice given the grass.
